Masonite/ Dionysus 7-a-side Soccer Tournament Report.
Once again our Learners treated us to a very entertaining day of 7-a-side soccer.
After all the teams had played each other in the preliminary rounds it was ‘The Green Hunters’ and ‘Orange Sunrise’ who were knocked out and had to sit on the sideline. However, their vocal support was tremendous as they encouraged their friends during the semi-finals. ‘Yellow Summer’ lost to ‘Gunners’ and ‘Blues’ beat the ‘Red Devils’. In a hotly contested final the ‘Gunners’ beat the ‘Blues’ 2 goals to 0.
After the final, Mr Martin Birtwhistle, Masonite (Africa) Ltd HR Executive, gave a short motivating speech and presented Gold Medals to the winning ‘Gunners’ and Silver Medals to the runners-up, the ‘Blues’. Mr Martin Birtwhistle, Masonite (Africa) HR Executive, Mr Ngobesi, Masonite HR Manager, Mrs Asha Naidoo, Masonite (Africa) Ltd Training & Development Co-Ordinator, and her assistant, Pranesh Sookhayi, Mr Anesh Chandar, Masonite (Africa) Ltd, IT Specialist and Dionysus’ CEO Mrs Irene James, who scored on the day together with Landiwe Ngqulunga, Masonite’s Education and Development Centre General Assistant, are thanked for their support and assistance throughout the day.
