ABL Assessor Training

In August (of this year) I once again found myself in the beautiful country of Ghana and hosted by my good friends at Accra Brewery Limited (ABL), a subsidiary of SABMiller.

                               ABL Assessor Group

It has been close on six months since my last visit and it was indeed a pleasure to see familiar faces and catch up with “old” friends. A total of 19 delegates were trained over 5 days in SABMiller CAP and the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) generic Assessor training - which is internationally benchmarked.

The delegates came from a number of different functions (packaging to finance) and from different divisions within the ABL family (ABL and Voltic). The intervention enjoyed a fast pace, with good interaction and a number of shared learnings that ensure the five outcomes of this training intervention were achieved.

The role plays (conducted on Day 3) set the foundation for the workplace assessments conducted on Day 4 and 5 and I can honestly say that the quality of work produced (via the Portfolios of Evidence) was outstanding. I found the workplace assessments to be both interesting and well conducted.

All attending learners were able to complete their Portfolios of Evidence and I am sure they are eagerly awaiting the assessor feedback. I would like to thank the team for my traditional Ghanaian outfit and on behalf of Dionysus and myself, we look forward to working with Maame and John - and their team again! All the best with your CAP implementation and future assessments.
