MEISHA’S PROFILE MEISHA’S PROFILE Ahamed Mulla (Meisha), has taken the path less trodden, leading to his current training career. He started out as a seafarer with Unicorn lines, where he trained as a navigating officer.By the age of 25 after gaining further experience in ships agency and maritime surveying,he found his 'calling' and passion, as a trainer. The next four years were spent studying and working part time as a teacher in Durban. He did not feel quitesatisfied with the prospect of teaching in South African schools and decided that he would rather travel again with a TEFL teachers’ qualification (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). He decided to move to Cape Town where he’d found a very reputable school that also assisted in the placement of qualified TEFL teachers. Cape Town proved to be more than a brief study stopover. Life’s complications and blessings saw him spend four years in the mother city. His training experience expanded with work done at two training companies facilitating & designing short courses and workshops for call-centres & waitrons. His final year was spent in business partnerships with two companies, a video production company and a video-based training distribution company. Meisha made an important shift to business thinking during this period when he came to realise further personal goals & potential. During 2006 Meisha began working as a freelance facilitator working in both Port Elizabeth and Johannesburg. Gauteng proved to be a fertile ground for facilitator work especially for freelancers. More companies preferred to outsource training related functions to a growing number of NQF accredited service providers. Meisha’s flexibility with regards to travel saw him gain valuable experience in different corporate settings, as well as in projects set in S.A.’s outer-lying rural areas. 2010 ushers in more positive changes with a relocation to Durban and more fresh goals. The Dionysus Vision & staff developmental culture tie-in with his needs, wants & passions. Meisha has found a healthy environment with a balanced, forward thinking setting. This is coupled with an enthusiastic and inspired team, committed to making real changes in ourselves and in our communities. 13 May 2010
